Hi everyone! It’s me, James again. Today, I am going to teach you how to use Dahua Partner APP to check whether your Dahua cameras are genuine Australian market products or grey import. Before we go on, I would like to explain to you the harm of “Dahua gray market product”. “Grey market” products refer to those products that are counterfeit, used, modified or installed hacked English firmware from Chinese version. These less expensive Chinese market versions of the Dahua cameras normally have a low-level configuration (i.e. RAM, sensor, DSP, CPU, case material, MicroSD card slot, etc.) to reach the lower price point. These cameras have been reported with various issues, including the inability to safely flash Dahua Australian firmware. What’s more, if you install these cameras in some commercial project, you may face law risk, because these devices are not suitable for Australian conditions and do not meet Australian standards. Moreover, Dahua recorders will be frequently upgraded to more secure firmware. The cameras from “grey market” will take the risk being blocked or being incompatible with recorders.

Download the Dahua Partner App and register, you can scan the product SN number to verify if the Dahua products you brought are from authorized channel or not.
For example, here is the scan result of a 2MP starlight camera, which shows that this product is not offically imported to Australia market.
Sometimes, you will find results as below on Dahua Partner App:
This means the product you scanned is Dahua OEM version or a special project product. Don’t worry, because it is also Dahua official Australian product.
However, if the scan failed and the model number does not come out, then you can tell that this product is gray market product.
